The “VDP Eagle” on Tour | Guest star: “Soulman” Stefan Gwildis
The VDP Prädikatsweingüter and the city of
When the “VDP eagle” packs its bag for the 2014 wine ball, it will doubtlessly be for a trip around the world. As a cosmopolitan, the eagle is at home in all leading cities of the world, from Rome to New York and from Stockholm to Tokyo. Worldwide, connoisseurs appreciate the diversity of top-quality VDP wines and their compatibility with exotic cuisine. Around the world in 80 days? Not for guests at the wine ball, where all stages of travel are brief and offer a wide range of worldly highlights – from South American rhythms Rhythmus to Viennese waltzes and Asian culinary delights. Yet, when it comes to wines, the eagle remains loyal to those of the Prädikat Wine Estates. The wine ball offers a splendid evening and an unusual journey full of culture and pleasure.
Evocative: “Soulman” Stefan Gwildnis
As a passionate interpreter of the songs of paragons of soul – such as Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, and Billy Paul – the Hamburg native has long been a part of Germany’s funk music scene, along with artists like Edo Zanki, Xavier Naidoo, Jeff Cascaro or Joy Denalane. His approach has proved totally successful: he performs in German, combining his own songs with others’ classics. Why English songs in German? Gwildis is not only deeply rooted in his homeland, but also feels he can best express himself in his native language. Despite growing success and gigs in large concert halls, Stefan Gwildis has remained down to earth...true to himself and his music...and literally reflected in his choice of footwear.
Experience evocative sounds of soul at the 2014 wine ball. They transcend all language barriers.
