Meetings Industry Association (mia) revealed the 10 meetings and events people
whose commitment, passion and inspirational actions have made a difference to
their employer, their colleagues and their customers, earning them a place on
the mia List 2013.

Big celebrations this week at Central Hall Westminster after the venue received the Chinese Tourists Welcoming Award 2013.

Presented at COTTM 2013, China’s largest outbound travel and tourism exhibition, the award recognises companies and organisations that have ‘gone the extra mile’ to welcome Chinese travellers while also dealing with their needs in an efficient and welcoming manner.

Central Hall Westminster Raises the Bar in Wi-Fi service

Central Hall Westminster is set to continue its commitment to first rate customer service by offering access to its state of the art Wi-Fi service completely free of charge to organisers, exhibitors, delegates and visitors.

The central London venue engaged leading industry internet professionals, MaxWifi, to install the latest Meraki equipment which offers connectivity to devices which communicate on both the 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz radio frequencies thus enabling end users to experience much better and consistent connectivity throughout its 22 meeting and events rooms.

Central Hall Westminster record numbers attend Embassy Expo

A record number of diplomats attended the fifth annual Embassy Event Expo at Central Hall Westminster, central London’s largest Conference and Events Venue. The Embassy Expo attracted over 100 nations to Central Hall Westminster last week, (Fact- this is more than double that were present at the first-ever meeting of the United Nations which was also hosted at Central Hall Westminster in 1946).

Central Hall Westminster welcomes internship

New intern supporting CHW team

Central Hall Westminster, London’s largest Conference & Events Venue, is starting the year with a new addition to the team. Julia Boersing will be starting a 6 week internship in the Events and Marketing team at Central Hall Westminster on the 28th January 2013.

Central Hall Westminster has been offering internship programmes since 1996. A specially devised internship programme offers candidates a unique opportunity to complement their university degrees with practical ‘hands on’ experience.

Julia Boersing is currently studying ‘Event and Congress Management’ at the University of Mannheim, Germany. As part of her extra-curricular experiences, she has already gained work experience at a large hotel group, a concert booking agency and as event co-ordinator at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, also based in Germany.

Her drive and enthusiasm for the events industry and Central Hall convinced the management team to grant the internship. Julia will be supporting the marketing and events team and gaining an invaluable insight into the working practices in the UK.

Julia Boersing commented: ‘I am very excited to extend my event management skills at Central Hall Westminster and to work in Europe’s largest capital city which will offer such a vast range of events’.
